Houzez Off-Plan Search – Plugin Overview

Houzez Off-Plan Search is a WordPress plugin for the Houzez real estate theme. It adds shortcode-based search for off-plan properties with AJAX filtering and integrates with Houzez taxonomies and templates. Free to download and use.

Core Features

1. Off-plan property search shortcode

• Shortcode: [houzez_offplan_search]
• Can be used on any page, post, or widget
• Shows only properties with property_status = off-plan

2. Three taxonomy filters

• Community (property_area) – single or multi-select
• Projects (property_developers) – multi-select
• Developer (property_developers) – single select
• Filter dropdowns only list terms that have off-plan properties
• Property counts shown for Community and Developer

3. AJAX search

• Filter changes trigger search without page reload
• Debounced filter changes (280ms)
• Loading indicator during requests
• URL updates via history.pushState for shareable links
• Browser back/forward supported

4. Sorting

• Default Order
• Price (Low to High / High to Low)
• Featured Listings First
• Date (Old to New / New to Old)
• Title (ASC / DESC)

• 7 Houzez card styles: v1, v2, v3, v4, v5, v6, v7
• Default: v7
• Uses Houzez theme templates (template-parts/listing/item-{style}.php)

8. Status-based search forms shortcode

• Shortcode: [houzez_status_forms_search]
• One search form per property_status term
• Each form includes: Community, Property Type, Min/Max Price, Bedrooms
• Submits via GET to Houzez search results
• Optional status attribute to limit to one status (e.g. status="off-plan")

9. Template override

• Theme override path: houzez-offplan/{template-name}
• Allows theme-level customization of plugin templates

10. Theme integration

• Uses Houzez functions: houzez_option, houzez_prop_sort, houzez_pagination, etc.
• Uses Houzez listing templates for property cards
• Integrates with Houzez grid image gallery
• Admin notice if Houzez is not active
